CardioFlex Therapy is proud to support the dedication of the United Cerebral Palsy of Palm Beach and Mid-Coast Counties’ Transitional Learning Academy. On Wednesday, October 14 at 6 pm, UCP will be dedicating their Transitional Learning Academy to the memory of Dana Lafayette Smith. A reception will follow the dedication.
Transitional Learning Academy serves the educational needs of students between the ages of 14 to 22, with varying exceptionalities. All students are on a special diploma track with an intense focus on their individualized transition plan that lead to a post-secondary life goal. These goals may include supported employment or additional training in areas of life skills and/or daily living skills.

Physical therapy is often the first step in treating cerebral palsy. It can help improve motor skills and can prevent movement problems from getting worse over time. Physical therapy implements strength and flexibility exercises, heat treatment, massages and special equipment to give children with cerebral palsy more independence, as reported by the Cerebral Palsy Guide.
