In upcoming community news, CardioFlex Therapy is proud to publicize the American Lung Association’s Fight for Air Climb being held in Miami on Saturday, June 21st, 2014 at the Wells Fargo Center in Downtown Miami. This unique fundraiser is one of many fundraisers around the country with participants climbing many of the nation’s skyscrapers. This event is a ‘vertical road race’ with teams and individuals who aim for various fitness targets and awards during their climb as a great way to be active and meet new friends.
The money raised will go towards research for lung disease research, advocacy and education which combats the disease and also helps find a cure. Registration can be before the event at 7:30 AM at the Wells Fargo Center in Downtown Miami: 333 SE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33131. To participate in the climb a minimum $100 donation is required after a registration fee of $25 is paid. Registration can be completed online by going to registration.lung.org. Credit card donations are accepted through the fundraiser website and any physical donations would need to be sent to the American Lung Association’s offices and donations are tax-deductible.
With four categories to choose from, there are several different ways to enjoy the climb. The categories are Climber, Firefighter with partial gear and Firefighter with full gear then Uniformed Service (wearing Police, EMTs, Military uniforms). Certificates and awards will be given for Men and Women who place 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in different age groups along with the fastest team (based on the top 3 climbers on the team), Largest Team, Highest Fundraising Team, Fastest Climber Award and Fastest Firefighter.
